Some relationships simply aren’t meant to last a lifetime. While some evolve and grow as the years roll by, others serve their purpose within a season. While it takes a certain level of maturity and insight to be OK with the ebb and flow of our human connections, the pain of dissolution is always felt. For his latest single “Daylight,” multihyphenate artist SCayos joins forces with Brooklyn singer/songwriter/producer Relyae and 3D designer/beatmaker ROHO and takes listeners for a groovy ride on the emotional rollercoaster of a breakup.

The mood of both the track and its accompanying visual, which features looped snippets of SCayos toying with melodies while lounging with his cat, is melancholy as the trio attempts to pick up the pieces. They ask, “How did we fall out? / Hope we can touch the ground / Say when you’re able / We can try to make the rounds / Only you can take ’em, we just gotta go alone.”

“Daylight” serves as the second release from SCayos’ forthcoming LP Whatever Happens, Happens and follows his previous single “Under The Stars,” which dropped last month. The 12-track project is said to continue along the emotional and, quite frankly, triggering path laid out by the previous offerings.

Via an announcement on his label Nettwerk Music Group’s website, SCayos says the album covers the process of grief. “Loss is experienced in so many ways and everyone copes very differently, but there are 5 main stages of it which I chose to express through the album: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance,” he artist explains. “Each track is my take on these stages, how I felt during the times of loss, and how I got through them.”
