Tems is ready to take on the world. A few weeks ago she teased that her forthcoming debut album Born In The Wild was on the way, and she is making good on that promise. Originally on the books for a May drop, Tems has shifted the date to Black Music Month and locked in Friday, June 7th for its worldwide release. In addition to sharing that bit of good news, she unveiled the Born In The Wild cover art and announced the Born In The Wild World Tour.
The album cover for Born In The Wild features a striking photograph that turns the artist into art. Set against a black background, Tems’ face is partially illuminated as she stares into the distance. The rest of the image plays with shadow and light against her beautiful milk chocolate skin. The tips of her big, bold hairstyle offer a pop of color as does the platinum and diamond jewelry that she wears.
She posted the album cover and official release date across her socials with a heartfelt message. “This is my most special moment. Everything I have I put into this. Thank you all so much for believing in me,” Tems wrote to her fans and followers.
Shortly after this surprise, the songstress had another one right behind it with the big reveal of her first headlining tour. The Born In The Wild World Tour will take the Nigeria native around the globe beginning in June. Days after her debut album drops, the tour will begin in the UK and Europe with its first date in London on June 12th. She’ll then venture on to Paris, Oslo, Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam and Montreux.
Once Tems completes her European dates in July, she’ll reconvene in North America in August where she’ll be joined by Naomi Sharon and Lekan who will alternate opening act duties. That leg of the tour kicks off on August 22nd in Miami Beach. Additional U.S. and Canadian cities Tems will visit include Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, D.C., NYC, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, San Francisco and Las Vegas. The last date in the states will be on October 1st in Los Angeles.
After taking on Europe and North America, Tems will take her show to Africa and Asia in October and November, respectively. Locations and venues for her African and Asian concerts are still to be announced.
The final country that Tems will visit on her world tour will be Australia, where she has three dates scheduled. She’ll start her journey Down Under in Melbourne on November 9th before heading to Brisbane and Sydney, where the tour is set to end on November 15th.
Altogether, Tems will perform 31 shows on the Born In The Wild World Tour. After seeing her command the stage at Coachella 2024, where she wowed the audience throughout her set and debuted her latest single “Love Me JeJe,” she is ready for the challenge.
