The couple that jams together stays together. Or at least that's what we think is the case with Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert. While Teyana is a known entertainer, her hubby the NBA star is also an emerging rapper. His wife has guested on some of his tracks, and now he's making an appearance on her upcoming project, simply titled The Album, on her newest single "Wake Up Love."
On “Wake Up Love,” Teyana is getting restless, waiting for her lover to realize that she needs his attention – and not just some good loving but intimacy. She needs someone to come listen to her and comfort her. Iman responds in kind, promising to be there for her through the worst of times, declaring, “I'd save you from a burnin' building / I wear the burns as gold medals, turn you on to remember.” All of these sweet somethings are shared over a tranquil, airy, bass-heavy groove courtesy of Swiff D and Cardiak.
Once again, Teyana plays her part in front of and behind the camera for the video for “Wake Up Love.” In the clip, she and her husband are laying in bed surrounded by fluffy clouds. They share some pillow talk about their relationship and their need for each other. Of course, no Teyana Taylor video is complete without an appearance from baby Junie who surprises us by kissing her mother’s growing tummy and revealing she’s going to have a little sister. Aww! “Wake Up Love” is the latest listen from Teyana Taylor’s forthcoming third album. It follows previous singles “Bare Wit Me,” “Made It,” “We Got Love,” "HYWI” and “Morning.” Word is that Taylor plans to announce the release date for the project on Monday, with The Album dropping soon after.
