Seinabo Sey is set to drop her sophomore album, I'm a Dream, on September 7th. That's less than two weeks away! We knew it was coming at some point this year – or, at least, we hoped it was – but now that we have a confirmed title and release date, it's officially time to do our happy dance. What's even better is that the announcement comes with a new single entitled "Good In You" that has us groove-bouncing like no one is watching.
Every single song (and visual) that Ms. Sey delivered to us this year has been flawless, and her fourth release is no exception. What's interesting, though, is that "Good In You" reveals a sound and vibe that we haven't really seen from her before. Even when she engages her luxuriously deep register, there's a lightness that permeates her overall tone. Part of the credit belongs to the infectious instrumental arrangement. Xylophonic chords provide a bubbly and playful undercurrent for the Magnus Lidehäll and DJ Carli-produced tune while snappy drums give it an edgy beat. She also enlists talented friends Sabina Ddumba and Bounce-Worthy alum Daniela Sörensen for some sweet background harmonies. In short, issa bop. And we can't get enough of it.
As an added bonus, Seinabo also released a cute lyric video for the song. Using footage from a phone, the heartwarming clip features candid moments with her family and friends. As we're given a peek into her personal world, it feels like she's reaching out and connecting with us on a different level. We suspect I'm a Dream will evoke similar feelings among her fanbase, as she says, “This time around it felt really important to make the story that I’m telling directly, and very, personal. And every song represents a part of my life from the past year and a bit, more so than with Pretend.”
After giving "Good In You" a spin below, go ahead and brighten someone's day by purchasing the track as gift. Afterwards, pre-order I'm a Dream (you already know it's gonna be amazing) and unlock a special video message from our beloved SeinaBae.
