Pharrell Williams moved his Something In The Water music and arts festival from Virginia Beach to Washington, D.C. in 2022, and now he’s moving it back. After taking over the National Mall and kicking off summer during Juneteenth weekend last year, the big event is returning home to Virginia for its third edition and shifting back to a springtime affair. Something In The Water 2023 is scheduled to take place the last weekend in April, from Friday, April 28th through Sunday, April 30th. Of course, just as Pharrell has done with the previous festivals, he’s curated quite a diverse lineup of talent to set things off.

Altogether, over 50 artists from Afrobeats sensations to soul brothers and sisters are on tap to perform at Something In The Water 2023 – and those are just the ones who've been announced. There’ll be numerous surprises when Pharrell himself takes the stage with a few of his famous and so-far nameless “Phriends.” The majority of the talent isn’t a mystery, however, with many piquing our interest.

There are some legends on the bill with Nile Rodgers & Chic and Grace Jones leading the pack. On the R&B side will be SWV, Jazmine Sullivan, Kehlani, Masego, Summer Walker, Umi and FLO all contributing to the vibes. A rack of rappers will be rocking the mic, including Wu-Tang Clan, Lil Wayne, Clipse, Kid Cudi, Wale, Latto, Lil Yachty, Lil Durk, Lil Uzi Vert, Coi Leray, Flo Milli, Aminé, Chika, Doechii and Saucy Santana, to name a few.

Aside from R&B and hip-hop, there’ll be a little bit of country from Maren Morris, a little bit of rock ’n roll from Mumford & Sons, a little bit of jazz from Kamasi Washington, a little bit of comedy from Jay Pharoah and a whole lot of DJing from Kaytranada, Skrillex and Kitty Ca$h.

There’ll be a little something for everyone at Something In The Water 2023, which is being presented this year by Walmart. Organizers are also welcoming all ages to the family-friendly festival. Children under the age of 5 will be admitted free with a paid adult ticket.

Speaking of tickets, if Something In The Water sounds like your type of carrying on, then make a decision to attend quickly as passes are in short supply. All VIP passes are already sold out, however, some 3-day GA passes are still available for $399 plus applicable fees. Purchase passes and get more information about ticketing from the Something In The Water website.
