The name Biako may not immediately register when you hear it, but trust and believe you've heard his work. The artist born Itai David Shapira has credits on music by a who's who of contemporary artists that proliferate our playlists, including Yuna, Masego, Lion Babe, Tank And The Bangas, Mereba, Fana Hues, Fousheé and Baby Rose, to name a few. Biako is looking to join his colleagues in heavy rotation with his latest single "Irreversible" where he's joined by Leven Kali and Van Hunt.

"Irreversible" is a classic case of an entanglement that unravels a relationship. A tale as old as time, Biako, Kali and Hunt add their smooth take on a messy situation to the cheating songbook. The artists take turns delivering their lyrics over a soaring sound bed of strings, bass and percussion that's both funky and easy listening.

Biako lays his cards on the table early. He begins the song with the chorus, sweetly serenading his cheating lover. "You was never a question / You was my mission to be yours, too / But you forgot to mention / You made a move that you can't undo," he sings about their broken commitment. "Don't be mad at me cause I want it to end / Don't be mad at me cause you wanted a friend."

Leven Kali, who's been having a moment all year between his solo releases and his stellar contributions to Beyoncé's RENAISSANCE, slides through to sing about the relationship in the past tense to let her know he's done.

Van Hunt takes it to the bridge to reiterate what those before him have said. His raw vocals add another layer to the track to counter the smoothness of Biako and Leven. He assures her that although he won't stop loving her, it'll just have to be from afar.

Biako's "Irreversible" is his third single following "Damn Gina" and "What It's Like To Be Him." All tracks will be housed on his debut album Feelings Happen, which will also be released with a short film. The deeply personal project will chronicle his "transformational four-year journey that began with heartbreak and soon evolved into a celebration of life." There's no release date for the 14-song project yet, but "Irreversible" suddenly has us awaiting its arrival.
