Jenevieve has been a busy lady this summer dropping singles and visuals. While we suspected there was something on the horizon, the singer-songwriter surprised us when she released her new EP Rendezvous last week. Even sweeter is the fact that along with the EP's arrival, she also blessed us with a video for her single "Love Quotes."
The song suggests that Jenevieve doesn't need anyone else to meet her needs. The visual plays up on that notion as it focuses solely on the singer as she chills by her lonesome in different areas of what appears to be a palatial estate. Whether it's chilling poolside, having a champagne picnic on the grounds or changing up looks in the bathroom, the singer gives off an icy cool that shows her resolve to do right by herself. The idea is brought home by the end when she serves up breakfast in bed to someone that turns out to be another version of her.
"Love Quotes" is one of six songs found of Rendezvous. Produced entirely by her frequent collaborator Benziboy, the EP boasts a strong blend of bops and midtempos that focus on the ups and downs of love and all that entails. If you were a fan of her debut Division, then this one will be a welcome addition to your playlists.
