Macklyn, a singer-songwriter with roots in Roanoke, Virginia, wants to get on your radar with his new single “RADAR.” A collaboration with fellow artists Monielle, LEEVILLE and DEViANt Sounds, the atmospheric love song's title is a palindrome and it was released on December 2nd – or, 12/02/2021 – a Palindrome Day. This was all by design, as there are other palindromes hidden like Easter eggs throughout the song making this both a bop and a brain teaser.
Co-written by Macklyn and Monielle, “RADAR” finds a couple envisioning a future together. “What we’re making here is crazy / Never odd or even, my lady / We can take on the world, the world / Start at the first level / Just bare minimum from the jump you've been on,” Macklyn croons on the first verse before colliding into harmony with Monielle and LEEVILLE on the catchy chorus. Monielle takes over on the second verse to share some sweet musings about her beloved.
Produced by DEViANt Sounds, the singers' warm, intimate vocals glide naturally over his melodic piano, bass, programmed drums and electronic flourishes that comprise the track. The song ends with an instrumental outro where DEViANt Sounds really gets to showcase his musicality.
Macklyn and his talented friends impress on the single "RADAR," which follows the release of his debut album Life + Love earlier this year.
