The Internet Invites Us To ‘Come Over’ & Chill

The Internet always has the soundtrack to a good time, as evinced by the recent singles they’ve dropped from their upcoming record Hive Mind. The quintet also knows how to make their videos look like a blast as well. After the ’70s-inspired funkiness in the clip for “Roll (Burbank Funk),” the group takes us back to simpler times with the video for their latest single “Come Over.”

The video finds Internet frontwoman Syd spreading her wings as the clip’s director. In doing so, she crafts a tale of each of the band members trying to connect with their respective special someones. Syd’s is literally the girl next door, with Syd pulling out her best romantic comedy tropes to get her special lady’s attention and affections. The fellows of the band also entertain their significant others in color-coordinated rooms, including a tangerine-toned dream date for Matt Martians and a mellow yellow tryst for bass player Steve Lacy (watch for an extra funny moment that comes at the peak of his guitar solo). Once each person links up with bae, however, everything appears to be smooth sailing.

Watch The Internet find love with their dates in the clip for “Come Over” right here. Speaking of dates, the group have several lined up over throughout the rest of the year as part of a few festivals and supporting Gorillaz. You can check out their itinerary after the video and look out for Hive Mind when it arrives on July 20th.
