Conya Doss is getting ready to drop her seventh studio album, the appropriately named Seven, this spring. We already brought you the first taste of the upcoming new soul classic when we gave you the exclusive premiere of lead single "You Got Me." No, she's giving us another with the set's latest single, "When We Love."
The super smooth track is one for the lovers, with Conya's especially lovely vocal gliding over a soundbed of piano and silky guitar as she sings about what it feels to love her main squeeze. "When we love / It's like were stranded on another planet / Nowhere to be found / Me and you," she sings on the chorus, letting her lover that he is all she sees. But while everything here is slow jam fodder, Conya adds a bit of oomph by giving the song a bit of a steppers groove while still keeping the tempo slow enough to keep lovers close on the dance floor.
