When I first heard that Jay-Z was going to appear on a remix to Raphael Saadiq's utterly blissful song "Oh Girl," I was cautiously optimistic knowing that Jigga is no stranger to sampling classic records and this song is just that. But now that the song is here, I can't say thatmy anticipation paid off. Jay raps about cupid hitting him dead in his heart and makes clear references to his marriage to the hottest chick in the game, but overall his bars are blah. I'm sure this was a good idea on paper, but the final execution falls flat. The "Oh Girl" remix appears as a bonus cut on The Way I See It, but after hearing the album -- which is one of the best releases this year -- this could have easily been left off or re-imagined in a much better way.
