Eric Roberson is coming off of a phenomenal year that saw him release four singles – “Things Meant For Me,” “I Apologize,” “Just Don’t Hold It In” and “Make Some Time,” his collaboration with Jeff Bradshaw – and their corresponding visuals, go on tour and celebrate his 50th birthday. He’s keeping that momentum going and coming in hot for 2024. Erro rips the plastic off this brand-new year with a performance on Washington, D.C.-based rapper/musician Noochie’s Live From The Front Porch concert series.
For the uninitiated, Live From The Front Porch is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a live performance filmed outside on the front porch of Noochie’s actual house somewhere in D.C. The series normally features go-go and hip-hop artists, but the host also welcomes R&B singers to jam with the house band. That’s exactly what Eric Roberson came to do.
After a quick introduction by Noochie, Erro stepped out of the front door onto the porch to begin his mini-concert with “Picture Perfect.” It was chilly outside, but his vocals sounded as warm and inviting as ever accompanied by the four-piece band who gave the instrumentation a slight go-go feel. When it came time for Phonte’s verse, Noochie stepped up to spit some original bars for a one-of-a-kind performance.
Following that exciting start, Roberson continued his show with “Start All Over Again” from his most recent album Lessons. As usual, he killed it, which is no surprise. Also unsurprising was his final selection. He saved the best for last and ended his set with “Lessons,” his biggest hit in recent memory. Toward the end of his superb live rendition of the song, Erro kicked a slick freestyle like he’s known to do during his shows and made this feel like one of his live concerts.
Eric Roberson’s episode of Live From The Front Porch is sheer perfection, but we expected nothing less from this seasoned performer and SoulBounce fave. If you want to get the full live concert experience from Erro, he has upcoming shows this February in Pittsburgh at City Winery Pittsburgh and in Washington, D.C. on Valentine’s Day at The Kennedy Center.
On the music tip, Eric also has a new single entitled “Here For You” dropping on Wednesday, January 10th. The song can be pre-saved/pre-added on streaming platforms now. In addition, members of his private subscription group The Process have access to the exclusive “secret” album LNS, which has only been released there. Membership definitely has its privileges and perks, and Eric Roberson is clearly in his prolific bag right now. Watch Erro Live From The Front Porch below, and get ready for a big year from him.
