Musical director to the stars Adam Blackstone has become a star in his own right. His 2022 debut album Legacy has garnered millions of streams, spawned an instrumental set and a live recording and snagged him a GRAMMY nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance for the song “’Round Midnight” featuring Jazmine Sullivan. Blackstone is on top right now, and he’s taking that momentum into his second album, A Legacy Christmas. To introduce his debut holiday collection, he links up with Keke Palmer for the single “Christmas Kisses.”
It’s debatable if Keke has been naughty or nice this year, but she has a long wishlist for her personal Santa to fulfill this Christmas. “Ooh, Santa baby, baby, baby, please grant my wishes / Got plenty on my list but only one thing I’m missing / Now you know, you know I like diamonds and gold / But I hope you’re listening / Don’t forget about my kisses on this Christmas,” she sings on the chorus of the festive bop with a lively horn section and jingle bells.
Later in the song, Adam pulls up in his sleigh to deliver some gifts and bars on the bridge. He cozies up to Palmer with a smooth rap. “What you mean, girl, I’m the real man in ya life / You waiting for a dude to slide through the chimney at night / What you need under the tree is right here / Tall, dark and handsome, facial hair,” he confidently spits. He’s got all the swagger and sugar Keke needs this holiday or any day.
If you’re loving “Christmas Kisses,” there’s more yuletide joy to come. Adam Blackstone’s A Legacy Christmas will be released on Black Friday, November 24th and will feature Andra Day, BJ The Chicago Kid, Boyz II Men and many more guest artists. We can’t wait to add this project to our holiday music collection. Until that time, get in the seasonal spirit and listen to “Christmas Kisses” right here and slide the track onto your playlists via your favorite digial music platforms.
