I never recalled anyone in my immediate circle wondering aloud why is Diggy Simmons taking so long to release music of any kind. But that's okay since after watching the video for his debut single "What You Been Waiting For?" I must say that I am really pleasantly pleased. Rhyme flow? Nice, shows definite promise, and is ample evidence that he's been practicing and/or adhering to the advice his father and the rap elders have been giving him. The beat? Nice as well. The braying brass ensemble punctuated by hard-hitting percussion is a welcome change from computer-generated fodder being accepted by the lower-thinking masses. I'm really looking forward to Diggy's mixtape, Airborne, due soon, too. You tweeners already know how cute this pensive and sweet teen is, but here's some more eye candy for y'all. In the meantime, this one is about to get played one more 'gin.
