BJ The Chicago Kid is booked and busy. Earlier this spring, he opened for Ledisi on The Good Life Tour, and right now he’s on his The Gravy Tour, which recently kicked off in the DMV. While he was in the area, he made time to pull up to Noochie’s house in D.C. one night to perform on the Live From The Front Porch.

For his turn on the hottest new concert content series, BJ stepped out onto the porch to do his good singing under the stars. The Chi-town crooner made himself at home and took a seat on the steps to deliver the song “Never Change,” his duet with Phillip Bailey from his 2023 album Gravy. Although the Earth Wind & Fire legend wasn’t physically there, his vocals made a guest appearance.

BJTCK then took us to “Church” by singing the memorable track from his 2016 major label debut In My Mind. He followed that with a surprising selection, “Smooth,” a single he dropped during the pandemic that was included on the EP Three. He circled back to In My Mind to perform the fan-favorite “Turnin’ Me Up” before wrapping up with another surprise – a live cover of Lauryn Hill and Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low.”

BJ The Chicago Kid did what he came to do on Live From The Front Porch and let his soul glow. Watch his complete performance below.
