After first collaborating a decade ago, LA based Afro Classics MCs Scarub and Very are something like a fine wine: they age nicely. The eight year gap between MCs Scarub and Very's first album and The Classic EP (which drops today) doesn't feel as long once the first chorus of "Do Thangs" starts. It sounds like a little bit of a lot of Hip Hop grooves that came before it, which is possibly the impetus behind the album's title. But it's immaculately executed in a way to recall the feel good of other songs without being overly referential. It's not as progressive as some of the other tracks from The Classic EP that can be previewed on their official site, but its groove is strong and definitely encourages head-nodding. [H/T: MVMT]
