This is a big week for Ledisi! She is on the verge of releasing her tenth studio album Good Life, a project that she’s poured her heart and soul into for the past three years. Naturally, she’s excited to share her new music with her fans. Before Good Life drops on Friday, Ledisi is following up the “Sell Me No Dreams” visual with the lyric video for her Kenny Lattimore duet “Perfect Stranger.”
“Perfect Stranger” is one of the spicier songs in Ledisi and Lattimore’s respective catalogs with its theme of two people who meet and waste no time acting on their physical attraction. Despite that semi-scandalous premise, the duet partners are strictly business in the lyric video, which also features footage of the song’s recording session in Los Angeles.
Thanks to director Ron T. Young, viewers get to be a fly on the studio wall as Led, Kenny and the track’s producer Rex Rideout make beautiful music together. While the duet partners sing their respective lyrics into the mic, the words appear on-screen in animated purple writing. Watching them in the booth together is like watching two vocal masters at work.
