Hailey Kilgore is perhaps best known today for her turn as Jukebox in the STARZ hit series Power Book III: Raising Kanan, but she’s got a lot more going on. She’s already a GRAMMY and Tony nominee thanks to her turn on Broadway in the musical Once On This Island in 2017. And she’s also making a mark in music, with her 2023 EP Desire and Devotion garnering critical acclaim. She’s continuing to push through on the music front with her latest single “Drama Queen.”

“Drama Queen” finds Hailey ready to flip the script on a lover who’s playing with her emotions. She rides the trappy, piano-driven beat like the seasoned pro she is while calling out her guy’s fraudulent behavior. By the time she gets to the chorus, she’s decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

“Usually I don’t wanna be a drama queen, baby / But I love you and it’s driving me crazy, boy,” she sings. “You say that you want me and you think that you’re ready / But this love is gonna pick you up and drop you down, boy.”

“This is when you can’t let this person go. When you continue to argue not because you love the fight. But because the fight is the only way you get their undivided attention,” she said of the song in a press release. “You refuse to let the idea you had of them in your head go… That + being a little dramatic = The most toxic relationship you’ve ever had.”
