Ledisi is days away from dropping her tenth album Good Life and embarking on The Good Life Tour soon after its release. She’s shared ample samples of the project with her three singles “I Need To Know,” “Sell Me No Dreams” and “Perfect Stranger” featuring Kenny Lattimore. However, for those of us who want to hear and see our favorites, we’ve been missing the visuals to complement these songs. Ledisi must have known we were fiending, and she delivers a music video for her real talk anthem “Sell Me No Dreams.”
Led is joined by Family Matters actor Darius McCrary who co-stars as her love interest that she sets straight in the song’s lyrics. Behind the camera is her real-life love, her husband and director Ron T. Young. He lovingly captures beautiful footage of Ledisi singing alone in an empty room with natural light beaming through the walls of windows and in her scenes with McCrary that are wrought with tension.
The visual for “Sell Me No Dreams” is the first from Ledisi’s Good Life album cycle, but rest assured, it won’t be the last. “I know you’ve been waiting… but we’re just gettin started!!” the GRAMMY Award-winning songstress wrote on Instagram on the day the video premiered, hinting that more’s to come.
