As he prepares for the release of a new album, singer, songwriter and multifaceted creative Jessie Boykins III drops another single to feed the hunger of his adoring fanbase. Cleverly titled “Honestly, I’m A Threat,” the SOHN and Two Inch Punch-produced track allows Jesse to toot his own horn as he sings of the realization of one’s own greatness.

Boykins’ boastful lyrics, his passionate vocals and the track’s booming percussion brilliantly echo the confidence one feels upon finally coming into their own. He addresses a lover who had the audacity to stray, singing, “You were curious, new love / Now you serious, on one / Ain’t no point to ever stay the same / Cause I know I bring you better days.”

Known for giving his followers plenty to adore and dissect with his visuals, he chose to pair his latest single with a visualizer that captures his essence in its most free form. Watching via split screen, viewers eyes are sure to lock-in on his charismatic performance shot in the center, while simultaneously taking in the fluidity of his dance moves in the frames on either side. Overall, both the song and the video are the perfect pick-me-up for anyone needing motivation to boss up.

Through a handful of social media posts leading up to the single’s release, Jesse shared a bit of the inspiration behind it. “Finally coming into a space where I can start applying all I’ve been learning,” he noted on Instagram.

This latest offering marks the fourth single from Jesse Boykins III’s forthcoming comeback album, following “Kind And Nasty,” “No P***y For Losers” and the rerelease of his 2021 track “No Love Without You.” Following a noticeable absence from center stage, fans were treated to a striking performance on the COLORS platform, as well as a music video, back in May.

Allow Jesse Boykins III to pop his ish when you listen to and watch “Honestly, I’m A Threat” below, and add the track to your collection from your preferred digital music platform. While there’s no word on when the full project will drop, he’s also noted on social media that it’s “almost album time.”
