With the runaway success of her love song "Hrs And Hrs," Muni Long is having a moment. The single is currently sitting pretty atop Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart and in the top 20 of the Hot 100 with no signs of losing steam. And after appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night to perform the song, there's no stopping her now.
For her late-night television debut, Muni was joined by a full band and background vocalists Alexia Jayy and Marley Bleu, two singers who won the gig to sing with her after they entered her #HrsAndHrsChallenge on TikTok. Muni, Alexia and Marley began the performance with an a cappella intro that set the tone and smoothly segued into the band's instrumentals.
Though pre-recorded from a venue in Los Angeles and not live in-studio in NYC with Jimmy Fallon, the vocals were all the way live and Muni and the girls sounded beautiful throughout the performance. Muni also looked like money with her hair, makeup and wardrobe giving fashion model while she sang into her bedazzled microphone. She took a few stylistic liberties with this live rendition that didn't take away from the performance.
The standout song from her EP Public Displays Of Affection that dropped in November 2021, "Hrs And Hrs" went viral in December and it's only been up from there for Muni Long. Her TV appearance on The Tonight Show may have been her first, but it certainly won't be her last.
