LaTocha Has Found A ‘Full Time Love’

As a member of Xscape and Xscap3, LaTocha Scott-Bivens (known simply as LaTocha to fans) has spent the past decade helping to make sure that ’90s R&B stays relevant. Now she and her bandmates are reuniting once more to help the wildly successful Verzuz series commemorate its first birthday. The group will be going head to head, or voice to voice, rather, with SWV on the evening of Saturday, May 8th. But before she takes a trip down memory lane, the vocal powerhouse is celebrating something more personal – the release of her new single, “Full Time Love.”

While this isn’t her first solo outing, “Full Time Love” is particularly special to LaTocha. She explains, “I wrote this song at a time in my life when I was searching for an unfailing love; one without an expiration and I found it in God.” The single has an old-school vibe with vintage piano chords and gospel-style harmonies. The song is also filled with a joyful bounce that reminds us our troubles won’t last always. “Through all of my struggles / You helped me get through / I’m so thankful that / You’ve given me a full time love,” she sings with gratitude.

“Full Time Love” is our first taste of LaTocha’s forthcoming album The Invitation. In the meantime, the song is available for download via major digital outlets. After purchasing the inspirational single, check out LaTocha’s self-published vegan cookbook, and be sure to tune in on May 8th as Verzuz delivers the highly-anticipated battle between Xscape and SWV.
