With March being designated as Women's History Month, we've been loving the intentional recognition and celebration of phenomenal women – those who've broken barriers, made immeasurable contributions to society and continue the fight for equality – over these past few weeks. While the focus tends to fall on historic and modern-day sheroes, like our very own Editor-in-Chief, Kimberly Hines (woot, woot), it's also the perfect time to show some appreciation to all the women in our lives; especially those who tend to get overlooked or feel invisible in a world where superficial beauty reigns. That's why Allen Stone's latest single, "Naturally," is right on time.
Longtime fans may recognize the soulful ode from previous concert sets, but it's never been officially released until now. The updated version was recorded live at Studio X and features lovely background vocals from Jessica Childress and Moorea Masa. Touching on themes of self-loathing and negative body image, Allen counters by showing his support for ladies of all shapes, sizes and colors. "You're just the way that you should be / You're beautiful naturally," he sings, backed by groovy instrumentals. Stone also released a simple-yet-effective lyric video that allows his heartfelt words to come alive on screen.
