Can It 'Be' That Teedra Moses Is Back?

To paraphrase Langston Hughes, Teedra Moses' musical life ain't been no crystal stair. After dropping her stellar debut album Complex Simplicity in 2004, she spent seven years in label limbo after her record label, TVT Records, folded. Things seemed to be looking up when news broke that the songstress was newly signed to Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group in 2011 but, aside from the small splash her mixtape Luxurious Undergrind made, little has been heard from the union and it seemed she might've been the label's red-headed stepchild. Today is a new day, however, and with it brings a new joint from Ms. Moses. "Can't Be Luv" is the first single lifted from her upcoming The Empress Pride Collection. It's a bit of a departure for Teedra, as it definitely has more of a pop/rock flair than any of her previous material. Still, a change up in production doesn't take away from Teedra's natural vocal talent, as she takes the track head on with her sweet, honest vocals. Will this time be the charm for Teedra? That remains to be seen. But, with "Can't Be Luv" available on iTunes now and The Empress Pride Collection set to drop June 25th, things certainly seem to be looking up.
