We have to hand it to Ruben Studdard, the American Idol alum with a penchant for channeling Luther and looking the other way anytime it appears his runner-up Clay Aiken’s career is more fruitful. Since being un-assed from J Records, the “Velvet Teddy Bear” (retire it, quick!) has been cast as “Fats Waller” in Ain’t Misbehavin‘, and he’s
threatening planning to release a fourth album pretty soon. “I feel like I’m on course to have a very long career and I’m glad that I wasn’t a quick burner… I’m working on my fourth album. A lot of people don’t make it to that point. I feel like I’m exactly where I should be right now.” He’s correct. A lot of artists don’t make it to a fourth album. Some of them just… get it.
