Valentine’s Day is upon us, and love seems to be in the air for the single and coupled alike. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day without us getting a lovely musical gift for our V-Day soundtrack from our girl Mya. The triple threat performer, who celebrated her 25th anniversary in the business last year, kicks off year 26 by gifting her fans with her new single “Anytime.”
The singer turns to frequent collaborator MyGuyMars to lace her with a warm, inviting groove layered with bass guitar, synths and drums that waft through the speakers. After letting the rhythm ride out and wash over listeners, Mya steps to the mic to soothe her lover’s anxieties as she lets him know that their time has come.
“Hey boy, don’t be anxious / I know it’s been a hell of a wait but / Hope you know it’s you that I choose / All this love, it belongs to you,” she sings confidently on the opening verse. She soon moves to the chorus as she lets him know that anytime he wants her lovin’, all he has to do is call.
