We’re used to getting full projects from Jordin Sparks, but lately she’s been more prone to release the occasional song here and there. In February of this year, she dropped back-to-back singles “STADIUMS” and “Deux” with Elijah Blake after releasing the infectious groove “Stop This Feeling” last November. Now that we’re nearing the end of 2023, she resurfaces with her newest single “Call My Name.”
Jordin turns to previous collaborator Dem Jointz to provide the song’s production. He gives her a bit of throwback soul courtesy of a guitar-led arrangement and a little modern-day feel with driving drums. It gives the singer a chance to flex those American Idol-winning vocal gymnastics as she sings of a love that inspires her to take on the world.
“When you call my name, name, name / You call my name (You call my name) / And I feel strong enough to move a building,” she sings on the chorus. “You can call on me, fall on me / Feel like I can take on anything / When you call my name.”
Along with “Call My Name” comes teasing of a new album. The project is said to be arriving sometime next year. The singer even teased on her socials that the song was “only the tip of the iceberg” when it comes to what she has planned. Are you ready for what Jordin Sparks is bringing to the table?
