Kehlani has been putting in work. In the past year, they released the album CRASH, then two months later they dropped the mixtape While We Wait 2 and subsequently embarked on the CRASH WORLD TOUR. Most recently, they’ve had fans in a chokehold with their latest hit single “Folded.” Given the incredible response to the song, Kehlani decided to drop a music video and is putting in even more work.
In the City James-directed visual for “Folded,” Kehlani welcomes us to Nini’s Fluff & Fold. Business is booming, with a long line of customers bringing in clothes to be laundered. Like many Black business owners, Kehlani wears numerous hats and has to multitask, of course. When not out front checking people’s laundry in, the multitalented artist is in the back where the magic happens.
It’s a whole new world behind the wood paneled door, and Kehlani is the star of the show while encircled by dancers who are ready to get wet and get the job done. Wearing the hell out of a bedazzled catsuit that leaves little to the imagination, Kehlani and the dancers engage in a few choreographed routines and rock some more tantalizing outfits in different scenes.
Despite all the entertaining action going on behind closed doors, the visual ends with Kehlani back out front handling business and securing the bag. We don’t know where you get your laundry and dry cleaning done, but this video makes us wish that Nini’s Fluff & Fold was a real place.
