Erykah Badu and The Alchemist broke the internet back in March when they announced that her first new album in 15 years would be a joint project from the pair. Fast forward to this past Friday, and they broke necks when they dropped the Mobb Deep-sampling single “Next To You,” the first listen from the album entitled Abi & Alan. Now the dope duo have fans breaking their piggy banks open and breaking out their credit cards to purchase tickets to their newly announced Badu and Alchemist Present: Abi + Alan LUV IZ...Tour.
Currently on a three-city mini-tour in Japan where they’re performing their first-ever live shows together, Badu and Alchemist will take the LUV IZ...Tour across North America this August. The neo-soul goddess and producer/DJ/rapper will hit the ground running in Seattle on August 8th. From there, they’ll hit cities such as Denver, Toronto, Miami Beach and Charlotte. The short-but-sweet, 10-date trek will end on August 24th in Austin.
Tickets to see these two creative legends on their LUV IZ...Tour are currently on presale and may be purchased via their special Abi & Alan website or on the Badu World Market website. Lock in tickets with the artist presale code “Abi122.” General ticket sales go live on Friday, June 27th at 10 a.m. local time.
Erykah and The Alchemist haven’t said when Abi & Alan will drop yet, but the album will be released independently on Badu’s imprint Control Freaq Records in partnership with EMPIRE. This will be her first rodeo as an indie artist and label owner, so it’s a whole new world for the songstress, but she is ready to meet the challenge.
