Beyoncé might be holding out on the visuals (for now), but she isn’t holding out on thrilling her fans. She’s currently giving it to the Beyhive in Europe on a massive scale for the European leg of her RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR. While fans Stateside are clamoring for tour footage, Bey surprised us all with an unexpected remix to her RENAISSANCE track “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” featuring the big homie Kendrick Lamar.

The revamped version of the song is the third time that Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar have worked together on wax – following “Freedom” from 2016’s Lemonade and “NILE” from 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift – and the chemistry between them continues to deepen. The song opens with K.Dot taking off running after the song’s instrumental intro as he plays nimbly with his voice and cadence as only he can.

Lamar rides the verse like the song was made for him — though the added customizations for this remix make it feel like it kind of was. His minute-long verse is full of quotables that you’ll probably be hearing all summer long, but he really hits a stride in the middle, when he raps, “Say Bey, yes America got a problem / Geeked up, choosy lover, that chose violence / Universal, please don’t play possum / I’m a businessman doin’ as follows.”

Bey’s portion of the song remains mostly the same, though a few noticeable flourishes are added to the sound bed to spice the nearly year-old track up (including a few ad-libs from Kendrick, himself).

This new remix isn’t visuals, but it’s definitely enough to keep Beyoncé on our lips until she takes her tour Stateside in July. Take a listen to Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar doing the damn thing for the third time when you press play.
