GRAMMYs To Expand Nominees For Major Categories
With constant complaints about not only the categories in the GRAMMYs but also who's nominated, it seems the Recording Academy is looking to make some changes. Starting at next year's awards, the Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Best New Artist categories will expand from five nominees to eight. "This creates more opportunities for a wider-range of recognition in these important categories and gives more flexibility to our voters when having to make the often challenging decisions about representing excellence and the best in music for the year," said Recording Academy President Neil Portnow.
