Late last year producer/singer/songwriter/DJ (and Wah Wah 45 labelhead) Scrimshire released his eclectic, yet consistently soulful second album, The Hollow. Featuring a handful of his Wah Wah 45 labelmates, The Hollow was championed by tastemaker Gilles Peterson, as well as on these very pages. One of my favorite songs from the album, "Alignment," is getting a release as the final single from the project, before Scrimshire finishes up his third album, due in 2013. The track features the sweet, smooth vocals of Stac over a dark, drum-heavy beat; a truly hypnotic combo if ever I heard one. The single release will be accompanied by remixes from Anchorsong and Claws For, but it's the original where the magic really happens. The single is to be released on September 24th and can be pre-ordered from Scrimshire's Bandcamp page.
