SWV and Xscape are ready to hit the road together on The Queens Of R&B Tour, which kicks off in a few weeks. The two groups have settled their beef that manifested during the first season of their reality show SWV & Xscape: The Queens Of R&B and are on board to co-headline this highly anticipated concert tour. Before these ladies make their cross-country journey, they stopped in New York City to pay a visit to Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show Sherri.

Shepherd welcomed Kandi BurrussTameka “Tiny” Harris and Tamika Scott of Xscape and SWV’s Leanne “LeLee” Lyons, Cheryl “Coko” Gamble and Tamara “Taj” George to chat it up. The last time that the ladies of SWV were on Sherri in April 2023, they weren’t too pleased with how things turned out on the reality show and their relationship with Xscape appeared to be in shambles. A lot has changed in the past year, though, and both groups were on Sherri singing a different tune.

The hostess jumped right in to get to the tea and asked Taj how they got to this place. “We grew up, but it was also more of a mass miscommunication,” she admitted. “Once we sat down in a nice little room together and spoke like adults – like we should have from the beginning – without management, we were able to understand each other and come to an understanding,” Taj said and sang the word “understanding” to the tune of Xscape’s song of the same name.

Sherri then turned to Tiny for her perspective. “I’m just happy to see us be able to mend that relationship because before we all just loved each other. We didn’t get to be together a lot, but we didn’t want that show to be a part of breaking us up,” she chimed in.

“We got a long history,” Kandi added about the two groups who rose to prominence in the ’90s and formed an R&B sisterhood. “I’m just glad we were able to get back on the same page,” she said before shouting out Mona Scott-Young who was sitting in the audience.

Sherri quizzed both groups about how the media mogul brought them back to the table, and Coko kept it a buck. “She showed me the money!” SWV’s lead singer exclaimed with a hearty cackle.

During the interview segment, Tamika and LeLee both shared some insight into what fans can expect from The Queens Of R&B Tour, but the groups decided it was better to show people than to tell them. After a brief commercial break, Xscape and SWV performed a medley of their respective hits to give fans a sneak preview of what they can expect.

Xscape began with “Who Can I Run To” – which SWV unanimously chose as their favorite song of theirs – and continued with a snippet of “Understanding.” SWV then bumrushed the stage to sing “Anything” and “Right Here (Human Nature Remix).” Everyone sounded outstanding as usual and looked like they were genuinely having fun.

The Queens Of R&B Tour, co-produced by Mona Scott-Young’s Monami Entertainment and Live Nation, starts on June 27th and runs through August 18th. The massive tour will also include performances by MyaTotal and 702. Who won’t be involved with the tour is former Xscape member LaTocha Scott, but the group appears to be doing just fine as a trio.
