André 3000 To Go On Intimate ‘New Blue Sun Live Tour’

André 3000 may not have anything left to say when it comes to rapping, but he has much more to play on his flute. After surprising his legion of long-time fans with his experimental instrumental album New Blue Sun this past November, the notoriously reclusive artist is venturing back out into the world to play for the people on his just-announced New Blue Sun Live Tour.

Unlike his previous life as a member of the iconic duo OutKast where he rocked massive stages alongside his partner Big Boi, the New Blue Sun Live Tour will find André 3000 playing an intimate set of shows at smaller venues. He’ll be accompanied by a few of the artists who worked with him on New Blue Sun – the album’s co-producer Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina and Deantoni Parks.

The tour kicks off soon with six nights of shows in New York City with the first concert in Brooklyn on Monday, January 26th. 3 Stacks will then take his stripped-down, instrumental stylings to the heart of NYC for a three-night residency at the legendary Blue Note New York, where he will perform two shows each night. After that, he will move on to another venue in Brooklyn for two more performances.

Following his New York takeover, the artist born André Benjamin will keep it moving to Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco and Atlanta, where he has multiple dates and venues scheduled in each city. The New Blue Sun Live Tour will conclude with a five-night stand in Los Angeles at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever.
