Isn’t it neat? We’re on the precipice of witnessing Halle Bailey assume the treasured role of Ariel in the upcoming live-action version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. That means that the promotional machine is going full tilt, with tie-ins and appearances aplenty and interviews and performances galore. Of course, that means that the film’s star Halle Bailey will be on our screens frequently in the coming weeks, including her recent performance on American Idol of the film’s signature song “Part Of Your World.”
Halle’s pre-recorded live performance took place at Disneyland in the wee hours of the morning, but you wouldn’t know it due to her stellar chops and the smile on her face during the entire set. While underwater elements were projected on the castle behind her and an audience holding blue lights to give the effect of the sea, she let her voice soar to new heights while decked out in a regal mermaid gown.
We always knew that Halle Bailey would be more than capable of bringing Ariel’s story to life, and her performances thus far have proven us right time and time again. We can’t wait to see the songstress dive into the role when The Little Mermaid arrives in theaters on May 26th.
