Eric Roberson Soothes Souls With ‘Here For You’

Eric Roberson’s year is off to a groovy start. The King Of Indie Soul popped up on the DMV area’s hottest concert content series Live From The Front Porch to jam with rapper/musician Noochie and a live band for a three-song performance. He follows that exciting appearance and keeps his streak of new music going with the release of his brand-new single “Here For You.”

Roberson shared some insight into “Here For You” in a press release. “This was inspired by the fact that everything already exists. Nothing is new, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be authentic to us,” he stated. “Love is not new. The words ‘I love you’ have been said a trillion times. Yet, if our hearts are in the right place, those words can feel like they’ve never been said before. So it’s more about realizing what is authentically ‘Here For You.’”

With such a philosophical foundation to the song, Eric chooses to keep the sound calm and peaceful. “Here For You” has an almost lullaby-like feel from his subdued vocal delivery to the instrumentation, which is highlighted by guitar and an exquisite string section. Erro’s lyrics encourage patience, introspection and deep thought in the listener. “Guess we can say what I feel is not new / It’s been here before, right now it’s here for you,” he sings on the chorus.
