With an Erykah Badu collaboration in the can, an amazing video and rumored appearances from Miguel and Prince, the anticipation for Janelle Monáe's follow up to 2010's epic The ArchAndroid is almost at boiling point. We have previously been assured that The Electric Lady would drop "sometime this year," but now folks we have a date. A firm date. September 10th to be exact. Hit the bounce to hear Janelle discuss the inspirations behind the album and some of the topics she may (or may not) touch on. Janelle will be in good company this September, with Gregory Porter's Liquid Spirit and the Robert Glasper Experiment's Black Radio 2 already confirmed. We cannot wait.
