In honor of absolutely nothing, we present to you this week's Soul-Poll. Mary J. Blige, for at least a little while, was not only referred to as the "Queen of Hip-Hop Soul" but also the "Queen of Remakes." Derogatory subtext aside, Mary J. is probably the most suited to take on the songs she's covered, being that she's the only artist with this level of mainstream visibility that for the past sixteen years has been able to channel the Old School with nary a flinch. My personal favorite? "I'm In Love" (which I'm certain will put me in the minority) with "Sweet Thing" and "Hello It's Me" running close by. What's your favorite cover by MJB? Vote after the bounce!
