Keyon Harrold’s latest album Foreverland has remained in rotation since its release in January. One of the tracks that we find ourselves playing on repeat is the LP’s fourth single “Beautiful Day” featuring PJ Morton. The song is audio sunshine and immediately puts us in a good mood whenever we hear it (which is often). Of course, such a feel-good track needs a feel-good video, and Keyon and PJ give us just that with a little international delight.
The fellas take us with them on location to Havana to show us what a “Beautiful Day” looks like in Cuba’s capital city. They tap director DL Warfield to do the honors, and his camera follows Keyon and PJ’s music moves under the island sun. Both artists are stylishly dressed in dark suits and sunglasses as they ride around Havana with the top down in a vintage convertible seeing the sites and making an occasional stop. Warfield also follows Harrold in a few solo scenes as he roams the streets with his trusty trumpet and plays a pop-up at a boxing gym.
“‘Beautiful Day’ is a song that PJ Morton and I wrote together in New Orleans, after a heart-to-heart conversation about life,” Harrold shared about their creative alliance in a press release. “We've been making music together for years, and every collaboration is just as special as the last.”
Keyon Harrold and PJ Morton are movements by themselves, but they’re a force together on “Beautiful Day.” Watch them travel around Havana in style in the video below.
