It’s almost a new year which means another 12 months full of new music. Leading the pack in February will be Kelela, who will release her remix album RAVE:N, The Remixes to take us to the dance floor this winter. The alt-R&B singer has already offered a duo of tracks from the project, with her most recent being “Closure (Flexulant x BAMBII Remix).” She’s now making it a trio with the release of her latest single “Happy Ending (A.G Remix).”
“Happy Ending” was already a dance floor burner thanks to its homage to ’90s rave culture and electronic sounds. It gets into the groove even more thanks to London-based producer A.G. The producer distorts Kelela’s vocal to almost chipmunk levels and then places a hard-hitting beat that flips between drill, jersey club and grime. It’s a dark, vibe-y switch-up that works with the song’s ethos and gives us a whole new way to experience the song.
