Donell Jones Serves Up 'Karma' With A Side Of 'Payback'

Donell Jones' debut album My Heart turns 25 whole years old this year. The R&B hitmaker isn't resting on his laurels to celebrate this milestone year in his career. Instead, he released the EP 100% Free last month and has bounced back onto our playlists with the single "Karma (Payback)" for which he recently dropped a music video.

Jones has had it up to here with a persistently unfaithful lover on "Karma (Payback)" and smoothly kicks her to the curb over the course of the song. "I gave you the world / And you still cut me deep / I forgave you when you cheated / I guess it didn't mean a thing / No more excuses / I packed your bags, they at the door," a brokenhearted Donell sings on the first verse. He even manages to work in a little bit of The Stylistics' "Payback Is A Dog" into the chorus to let her know that she's gonna get what's coming to her.

Donell does it up big for the music video directed by G Visuals. He's kicking it in a tuxedo at an upscale function and telling his bros Carl Thomas and R.L. about old girl's cheating ways and how done he is with her. We then see some flashback scenes of Jones and his lady's unhappy home before he shows her the door. Donell is also seen in other scenes filmed around his hometown of Chicago looking quite fly in a Louis Vuitton coat and other assorted drip. Back at the function, he and the fellas are joined by Jacquees, and they're all cutting a rug on the dance floor with beautiful women. Lo and behold, Donell's now ex is at the same event. She decides to confront him in the middle of his two-step, but he swiftly dismisses her and moves on with his new boo for the night.
