Kindred The Family Soul Is Back With 'Another One'

Kindred the Family Soul have kept us longing for a love like theirs throughout their 16-year career. And who could blame us? Aja and Fatin Dantzler have provided us with a walking, talking example of what long-term commitment looks like while they've taken us through the trials and tribulations of marriage and raising a family through their music. One reason they've been able to make it work has been that, despite the hard times, they've always made it a point to have fun together. Nowhere is that more evident than in their latest video, "Another One (The Remix)."

Directed by Hezekiah, who also produced the remix, the clip finds the couple donning skullies, hoodies and Timbs as they dance around the graffiti-covered ruins of a gutted-out building. The video is reminiscent of early hip-hop videos, a fact that was likely influenced by the song's sample of Sweet Inspirations"You Roam When You Don't Get It At Home," which was famously sampled on Ghostface Killah's "One" back in 2000. While the original "Another One" already had a grimy, hip-hop-tinged sound, this version kicks it up a notch, making the influence of the hip-hop that Aja and Fatin grew up on more than obvious.

The best part about the remix is that it doesn't feel forced at all. Though Kindred is most known for their touching ballads and uptempo songs about the ins-and-outs of family life, they prove that they are equally at home getting their best bop on. Just like their previous infectious works, by the video's end, you'll find yourself dancing right along with them before you even realize it. Take a peek at this fun video and see if it doesn't leave you reaching for your boo so y'all can bust a move in your living room.
