Whether you're famous or not, the unrelenting scrutiny that comes with social media can make it tough to step back into the public eye after a scandal. Of course, the term "scandal" itself is relative (one person's "Kanye shrug" is another person's meltdown). But for the person going through it, there can come a moment when it all seems like too much to bear. Such was seemingly the case just over a month ago when Kehlani was hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt. And while we won't speculate over the details, we will say that we're glad she's trying to put that chapter behind her with the release of a new single, "24/7."

The Oakland singer has taken to the studio to work through her pain, getting lyrically transparent as she sings, "I have my days when I am upside down, topsy-turvy...I have my nights when I'm not anxious to wake and feel any better." Her delicate vocals coast over a DZL production of slow-burning synth and staccato percussion, yielding a lovely and personal glimpse inside of her world.

Catch Kehlani's comeback below, download the single via iTunes, then check her website and Instagram for upcoming shows. And if you or someone you know is feeling suicidal or just needs a listening ear, please don't hesitate to reach out and take advantage of helpful resources, like the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, IAMAlive/Kritin Brooks Hope Center or Project Semicolon.
