Rihanna may be a day late, but thanks to James Fauntleroy she is certainly not a dollar short. In celebration of 4/20 and honoring all of her fellow Mary Jane-loving listeners and friends, the “Diamonds” singer whipped out an exclusive interlude off of her forthcoming yet-to-be-titled eighth studio album. Originally posted on her website, “James Joint” finds Rihanna crooning about smoking with the one that she’s most infatuated with.

It’s hard to believe or even verbalize, but this girl is really showing out vocally this era and successfully proving to us all that she has a lot more to offer than we expected. Now if you have listened to any of Fauntleroy’s solo material or even his work under the Cocaine 80s umbrella, you are well aware that this modern and simplistic Stevie Wonder-esque approach is his signature sound. The focus is always on the lyrics and the harmonies. But while Fauntleroy may have laid down the foundation with his songwriting and production expertise, Rihanna executed her vocals quite well on “James Joint.” Where this will sonically fit on an album that already is slated to hold “FourFiveSeconds,” “B***h Better Have My Money,” and “American Oxygen” is anyone's guess, but we're definitely intrigued.
