Kenny Lattimore Returns With 'Love Me Back'

It's been a minute since we've gotten anything new from Kenny Lattimore, but it looks like the singer is ready to come back on the scene. His newest single, "Love Me Back," finds the soulful crooner talking to the woman who's been down for him for a minute. "What a good feeling to know that I've got someone so perfect," he sings before letting the lady in his life know that they can go "all the way" with promises of a very eventful night ahead.

Musically, "Love Me Back" has a throwback feel, with programmed drums reminiscent of the '80s, production with a '90s sensibility and Kenny's timeless vocal. He even incorporates a bit of Bobby Womack's "If You Think You're Lonely Now" for good measure. Still, even with a great soundbed, it would come off just slightly generic if it weren't for Kenny's vocal, which is just as dynamic as ever, lifting the piano and synth-laden track just above mediocrity.

"Love Me Back" is the first taste that we're getting from Kenny's new album, Anatomy of a Love Song, which should be headed our way sometime soon. While we wait for more details on the release, savor Kenny's flavor by checking out "Love Me Back" right here and scoop this up on iTunes.
