Jhené Aiko's New EP Will 'Sail Out' In November

Jhené Aiko, the hauntingly clear voice behind some of hip-hop's biggest new school talent -- Big Sean's "Beware," Drake's "From Time," Kendrick Lamar's "Growing Apart (To Get Closer)," to name but a few -- is finally getting her time in the limelight. The artist is slated to drop her EP Sail Out on November 12th via Artium/Def Jam. A consistently contemplative vibe runs throughout her body of work, as seen in the video for "3:16am," which is one of seven songs to be included on Sail Out. How someone so petite can make something sound quietly powerful is something I marvel at every time she sings, and it's a feat she accomplishes over and over again. I'm excited to see what she has to offer besides hooks for my favorite rappers when her EP is released.
