John Legend Gives His 'All,' But Is It Enough?

You know something, I just can't quite work out how I feel about John Legend. His past projects have had me feeling all kinda ways, and, with less than a month to go before he drops Love In The Future, I still can't decide whether or not I'm excited for this album. So far we have had three leaks from the project, "The Beginning" was a bit of a snooze-fest, "Who Do We Think We Are" upped the ante significantly with a well utilized "Mr. Big Stuff" sample and a killer vocal, only for "Made To Love" to leave me scratching my head. So, I was counting on "All Of Me," the latest track to drop, to cast the deciding vote, and based off of a few spins I'm once again underwhelmed. Firstly, I will say that the piano-led ballad is beautifully sung and the apparent dedication to his fiancée, model Chrissy Teigen (pictured), gives an added emotional dimension, but the fact is we have heard this before, a hundred and one times. I'm by no means saying the song is bad, in fact it would make perfect "Wedding Playlist" material for those in need, it's just that I feel like I need John to deliver something a bit different, something with a little more spark, rather than rehashing what he has done (and done better) before.
