BASECAMP Introduce Us To 'Emmanuel'

When you think of Nashville, Tennessee the first thing that comes to mind is country music, but newly emerging three-piece bass/R&B/lo-fi outfit BASECAMP are hoping to show that music isn't dependent upon geographical location. Set to release their debut EP next month, the trio have unleashed "Emmanuel" as the project's lead single, and, if it's indicative of the rest of the record, I for one will be picking it up. With shades of fellow alt-R&B singer Sampha (who coincidentally dropped his Dual EP today) and a musical backdrop that would have sounded right at home on Bonobo's The North Borders, there is much to love. The band consists of Aaron Miller, Aaron C. Harmon and Jordan Reyes and, while I'm not sure which member(s) contribute vocals, they are the song's real highlight, packing an emotional depth and soulful tone that is impossible to ignore.
