When I heard the title of Vivian Green's "When Can I See You Again," I first thought it might be a remake of Babyface's "When Can I See You" from his 1994 album, For the Cool In You. But, no, Vivian's doing her own thing on this one, and I think you're going to like it. Thankfully, it turned out to be more than an average slow jam, kicking up a little 'tude with a vibe that'll loosen your shoulder joints and have you reminiscing about the good ol' days. Sometimes life gets in the way, and visits with loved ones are fewer and further in between than anyone cares to admit out loud. Vivian is missing her "friend" bad and can't wait until she can experience a real-life version of Peaches and Herb's "Reunited." I'm a sucker for live instrumentation, and she wisely used it as the foundation for the song. After debuting "Anything Out There," and now "When Can I See You Again," the singer/songwriter is finally ready to release her fourth album, The Green Room, on Tuesday.
