Keite Young Turns Up the Heat

Last night I was watching VH1 Soul (which seems to be on on-running theme if you're a SoulBounce editor) and basking in the afterglow of SoulStage: Jill Scott for the second time, when a video came on that caused me to pause and take note. The clip was for the song "If We Were Alone" by her labelmate, newcomer Keite Young featuring southern songstress N'Dambi. I had heard the song in passing before on his MySpace page, but I hadn't really paid attention until it was coupled with these sensuous visuals:

Now this vid is my idea of bringing sexy back. I'm normally not a fan of dudes with doobies, but Keite is working his coif. And, aside from that, I'm loving his voice. I hear a little Bilal, a little Prince, a little Van Hunt and a lot of heart, soul and funk.

Keite's debut CD The Rise and Fall of Keite Young will be released on August 28th. However, if you would like to get a taste of the musical pleasures that await prior to that, then Hidden Beach has got you covered with an album sampler available for download on the HB website. As if we needed anymore reasons to love the label.
